The following community members and organizations
have contributed the education of the students at MacArthur over the years. We appreciate
the time and effort everyone has invested in broadening the experience and knowledge of
our children.
- Agnes Norton,
A former parent, donated materials for special events and built beautiful
book shelves for our library.
- Cremer Lawn Care,
Volunteered services to help prepare the ground for the outdoor brick maze.

Kiwanis Club,
Kiwanis members have given money and time towards our wonderful gardens
and fantastic outdoor tricycle track. They have also funded book/toy lending library materials.

Educational Foundation,
Several grants
have been funded to supply the library with books, the computers with software, classrooms
with musical instruments/materials, farm field trip experiences and the giant salt water
fish tank. In 2005-2006, MEF grant monies paid for each
classroom to have a set of books about social skills for local city and
county officers to read to the students on a monthly basis. Last year we
have applied for materials to bring in physical education teacher, Linda
Miller, to teach bi-weekly gym class.

Senior Living Center, Classes visit
most Tuesdays from October to April to share singing and snack with our grandma and
grandpa friends.

Macomb Fire Department,
Fire fighters visit each October to
teach each class about fire safety and the skills Stop, Drop, and Roll" and
host a fire house tour every February.

Mary Ellen Graff,
Our volunteer librarian tells stories and
reads books to classes two days each week. She maintains the organization of the school
library.

National Wildlife Federation,
Gardening materials and plants in the playground garden environments were funded with
a grant in 2002.

The Pyles Family,
Brad
designed and constructed our new 10' dirt box addition to the outdoor play
yard.

Sloan Valve Corporation,
donated five automatic faucets to help make our restrooms age appropriate
and safe for the students.

The Vallillo Family,
professional musician, Chris Vallillo, has offered
his musical talent to special events throughout the
2005-2006 and 2006-2007 years.

WIU College of Education and Human
Resources, Classes and individual students
spend time in our classrooms and in storytelling and volunteering services for special
events.

ADOPT-A-CLASSROOM PROGRAM involves several local businesses this year
including: Aurelios, Buffalo Wild Wings, Larry A's, Macomb Public
Library, Mosaic, Pet Connection, The Wash Tub, and Western Illinois Museum.
