MINUTES
BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 13, 2009
5:00 P.M.

Board President Ardell Thompson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in Team Room B of the Administrative Service Center.  Roll was called with the following members answering “present”:  DeJong, Klems, Adams, Thompson, Clark, and Shouse.  Member Kiah was absent. 

At 5:01 p.m., member Adams moved, and member Shouse seconded, to hold a closed meeting for the purpose of discussing student discipline, pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9).  Members voting “yes”:  DeJong, Klems, Adams, Thompson, Clark, and Shouse.  Members voting “no”:  none.  Motion carried.

The Board returned to open session at 7:06 p.m.

Member Thompson moved, and member Shouse seconded, that the Board uphold the disciplinary action under review with regard to student 0809:1.  Members voting “yes”:  DeJong, Adams, Thompson, Clark, and Shouse.  Members voting “no”:  Klems.  Motion carried.

At 7:07 p.m., member Adams moved, and member DeJong seconded, to adjourn.  Motion carried by voice vote.
